Firesides are informal and candid live chats between international guests with diverse perspectives, with the goal to better connect local communities and “bubbles”, and invent and grow collaborations.

This Fireside Chat is moderated by our guest host Cymry Gomery of the Coalition for Green and Quiet Neighbourhoods, to explore leaf-blower bans from a legal and practical point of view. Guests are environmental lawyer Jean-Francois Girard and St. Lambert city councillor Loïc Blanquaert (St-Lambert recently enacted a complete ban on gas leaf-blowers). This fireside will be presented in French with English subtitles.

It will feature Lillian Lee, who is a surgeon as well as the chief of the department of surgery at Anna Laberge hospital of the CISSS-Montérégie-Ouest, and Andrea Cartile who works with Canada’s Chief Science Advisor and has done research to collect data on PPE waste during the pandemic.
